The Museum houses thousands of items, relics of the lost lead industry, which are explained and interpreted in an imaginative and thought-provoking exhibition. These include hundreds of rock and mineral specimens from around the world. Interactive exhibits and climbing tunnels, provide something for the young and the young at heart. Temple Mine is a working 1920s lead and fluorspar mine, just across the road from the Museum. A guide will take you around the mine, providing an authentic insight into life underground. *Please note spaces on the Temple Mine tour are limited. Please phone to reserve places and avoid disappointment. Temple mine is a real mine so waterproof, non-slip footwear is advised as the floors can be wet and slippery. Within Temple Mine, the roof is low in places and you will need to bend.
The Heritage Talks are held in the Mining Museum's Pump Room, and are ususally held every first Tuesday of the month from 7.30pm.
